This effective form of controlled injury is safe can result in dramatic or subtle skin tightening and sculpting without surgery.
How does it work?
A small ionized gas discharge is generated by the Plasma Pen that damages the most outer layer of skin like a tiny bolt of lightning. Only this small dot is produced causing an instant contraction. This controlled injury sends the skin’s natural healing process into overdrive. New cells are produced in the form of younger appearing skin. This new skin maintains new elastin and collagen. Newer and younger skin then makes it’s way to the surface over the course of 2 weeks.
How long is the procedure?
After numbing, which varies by location of the procedure, it can take up to an hour. The larger the area, the longer it takes.
What to expect?
There will be small carbon spots that will need to stay dry for proper healing for up to 7 days. This area will have some swelling that will should subside over 3-4 days. If the eye area is treated, you may want to prop your head up while sleeping. During this time you cannot touch or wet the treated area. Makeup and moisturizers can be resumed after ALL the initial carbon scabs have come off.
How long will it last?
The new skin will experience the normal aging process from the time the procedure is done. It will last the amount of time that it takes for your skin to lose it’s elasticity and collagen layer.
